Yes. Swapto operates within Nigeria's regulatory framework through a licensed partner. We use bank-grade encryption and two-factor authentication to protect your account and funds. The Central Bank of Nigeria lifted its 2021 crypto banking restriction in December 2023, and Swapto has operated openly and compliantly since.

Swapto is designed primarily for users in Nigeria. Bank withdrawals, bill payments, and airtime top-ups are tailored to Nigerian financial infrastructure. You can download the app from anywhere in the world, but core features require a Nigerian bank account and BVN.

Swapto uses a 3-tier verification system. Tier 1 verifies your email and phone number (unlocks basic use). Tier 2 verifies your BVN (unlocks higher trade limits). Tier 3 verifies your NIN and a government ID (unlocks the highest limits, up to ₦2,000,000 per transaction and ₦20,000,000 daily). Higher tiers unlock higher trade volumes.

Tier 1 involves verifying your email address and phone number. You receive an OTP via SMS or voice call after registration. Enter the OTP in the app to complete this tier. Tier 1 is required to make any transaction on the platform.

Tier 2 requires your BVN (Bank Verification Number). Go to Profile, Verification, BVN. Enter your 11-digit BVN. The app verifies it against your bank records in seconds. Once verified, your trade limits increase significantly and you can withdraw larger amounts.

Tier 3 unlocks the highest transaction limits on Swapto: up to ₦2,000,000 per single transaction and ₦20,000,000 in daily volume. To complete it, submit your NIN and a valid government-issued ID (driver's license, passport, or voter's card) under Profile, Verification, Tier 3.

First, check your spam or junk folder. Mark the email as Not Spam if you find it. If nothing arrives after 10 to 15 minutes, tap Resend Verification Email in the app. Double-check that you typed your email address correctly during registration. If you still do not receive the email, contact support at support@useswapto.com with your registered email address.

Yes. Go to Profile, Account Settings. To change your email, tap Change Email and follow the verification steps. To change your phone number, tap Change Phone Number and confirm with the OTP sent to the new number. For security reasons, sensitive changes may require additional verification from our support team.

On the login screen, tap Forgot Password. Enter your registered email address. You will receive a password reset link. Follow the link and set a new password. If you do not receive the reset email within 10 minutes, check your spam folder or contact support.

It depends on the coin. USDT on TRC-20 confirms in 2 to 5 minutes. Bitcoin takes 10 to 20 minutes for 2 confirmations. Ethereum takes 3 to 5 minutes. Tron confirms in about 3 seconds. Litecoin takes about 15 minutes. Bank withdrawal after conversion takes another 5 to 10 minutes via NIBSS.

The minimum varies by coin. Generally, any deposit above ₦1,000 equivalent is accepted. However, sending very small amounts can be uneconomical because network fees may eat up most of the transaction value. For small conversions under $20, USDT on TRC-20 is usually the cheapest option.

First, check the transaction hash on the correct blockchain explorer (blockchain.com for Bitcoin, tronscan.org for Tron and TRC-20, etherscan.io for Ethereum and ERC-20). If the transaction shows 'Confirmed' but your Swapto balance has not updated, wait a few more minutes. If it has been over 30 minutes, contact WhatsApp support at +234 811 337 2579 with your transaction hash, the coin you sent, the network you used, and the amount.

Sending crypto on the wrong network usually means permanent loss. For example, sending USDT on ERC-20 to a TRC-20 address, or sending BEP-20 wrapped Bitcoin to a native BTC address, may result in the funds not arriving. Always match the network in the Swapto app to the network you select in your sending wallet. If you make a mistake, contact support within 24 hours with your transaction hash. Recovery is rare but sometimes possible.

Before you confirm a sale, the app shows the exact naira amount you will receive. Network fees charged by your sending wallet are separate and are paid to the network.

From your naira balance, tap Withdraw. Select the bank account you want the money to land in. Enter the amount you want to withdraw. Enter your 4-digit transaction PIN to confirm. The naira lands in your Nigerian bank account in 5 to 10 minutes via NIBSS instant transfer.

Every major Nigerian bank works. GTBank, Access, UBA, Zenith, First Bank, Fidelity, Sterling, Union, Wema (including ALAT), Ecobank, Stanbic IBTC, FCMB, Polaris, Keystone, Providus, and all other commercial banks. Digital banks Opay, PalmPay, Kuda, Moniepoint, VBank, FairMoney, Carbon, and Sparkle are also supported.

Withdrawals from Swapto to your Nigerian bank take 5 to 10 minutes on average via NIBSS instant transfer. Digital banks like Opay, Kuda, PalmPay, and Moniepoint often clear even faster (under 2 minutes). If a withdrawal takes longer than 30 minutes, contact support with the transaction reference.

The minimum withdrawal is ₦1,000. There is no maximum for fully verified accounts. Tier 3 verified accounts can withdraw up to ₦2,000,000 per transaction and ₦20,000,000 daily.

No. Swapto does not charge withdrawal fees. The amount you see in your naira balance is exactly what lands in your bank account. Your bank may occasionally show a small standard fee on their end (usually ₦10 to ₦50 for received transfers), but this is a bank policy, not a Swapto charge.

No. For security and compliance reasons, you can only withdraw to bank accounts registered in your own name (matching your Swapto profile). Trying to add a bank account belonging to someone else will fail verification. This protects you from fraud and complies with Nigerian anti-money-laundering regulations.

Yes. Under Bills, Cable TV, select your provider, enter your smart card number, choose the package you want, and pay. Your subscription activates within minutes. Swapto supports DSTV, GOtv, and Startimes on all package tiers.

Tap Airtime on the home screen. Select the network (MTN, Airtel, Glo, 9mobile). Enter the phone number (yours or someone else's). Enter the amount. Confirm with your PIN. The airtime lands on the phone within seconds. Airtime purchases deduct from your naira balance.

Yes. Tap Data on the home screen. Select the network, enter the phone number, and choose the data bundle you want. Confirm with your PIN. The data plan activates within seconds. All major Nigerian networks and data plan sizes are supported.

No. Swapto does not add fees on airtime, data, electricity, or cable TV payments. You pay the face value of the airtime or the exact bill amount. This is one of the reasons users prefer paying bills through Swapto instead of banks that charge convenience fees.
